Generating Reports and Exports

The Time Report or "submitted time" is the core of your time reporting and approval relationships. The two types of Time Reports are the "Timecard" and the "Timesheet" which are determined for each project by the person who originates the project.

A Timecard is used for projects when you want to track the in/out times for each task performed during a given week. Below is a sample of the Timecard Report.

A Timesheet is used when you want to track the duration of time for each task performed during a given week. Below is a sample of the Timesheet Report.

The settings chosen for each role and the type of time entry method selected will determine what is displayed for each column when a Time Report is displayed or printed. For example, you may want the cost rate displayed for your administrator, but not for your clients when they do approval. In addition to the details supplied by the person who submits a Time Report, you will also see any approvals required for that project along with a date stamp of when the approval was provided.

TimeXchange also supports Project Team Reports and Personal Reports. These are a collection of summary and ad-hoc reports that can group project teams or projects across a given period of time. You will find these options in the "Reports" section.

"Team Reports" can only be generated for time and expenses that have been approved by ALL "Approvers". You can generate a time report or expense report for entries that have not been approved by everyone yet, by clicking on the "week of..." link on the Pending My Approval tab or Pending Others' Approval tab. Then look for the "print" link and click on that.

Finally, TimeXchange does support a growing number of export options in addition to the standard PDF and CSV (Excel) outputs. Currently there is an export for Quickbooks and for the SurePayroll service. When in the Reports section you will see a link that says "Export". Click there to make your export selections.
